Hibe enables you to interact and share Private and Public Content using various communications tools and applications. By submitting personal information to us, and/or by using the Hibe Platform, you agree that we may collect, use and disclose such personal information in accordance with this Privacy Policy, and as permitted or required by law.

Undefined capitalized terms refer to the meaning described in Hibe’s Terms of Service.

Collected Information


Hibe collects a minimum of information ("Collected Information") to offer its Services, including:

  • Information you provide
  • "Cookie" information
  • Information automatically collected

Information you provide


When you use Hibe, you may enter information, pictures, and other content that may or may not identify you. This information is collected, stored, transferred, processed and/or used by us to provide you with the service you requested and to develop a better platform.

You may have public and private content on Hibe, such as content contributed through the applications you use. Your public content is linked to your Hibe account.

"Cookie" Information


When you visit and/or use Hibe through communication tools connected to the Hibe platform, we may store information to authenticate you on Hibe and track system usage.

Automatically Collected Information


Our servers automatically collect and store certain information related to your system, such as your IP address, your operating system, the website from which you came, and your software version. We may also collect and store data about your online activity on Hibe, such as feature use, services used, content accessed, as well as the dates and times of your visits.

We aggregate and/or anonymize this information to improve performance, monitor security and generate activity reports.

Children


Hibe is a platform for a general audience and it is not intended to offer services to children. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under age 13, we will only use that information to respond directly to that child, seek parental consent or provide parental notice.

Use of the Collected Information


We use the Collected Information to provide, operate, maintain, enhance, update Hibe and create new features.

We may use the Collected Information to communicate with you in general, to send you various messages such as network and policy updates, administrative notices or to notify you of new features added to our Services, or to respond to your questions.

We may use the Collected Information to prevent potentially prohibited or illegal activities and to enforce our Terms of Use.

We may use third parties such as credit card processing companies to bill you for services. In this case, we may request your Billing Information and share such information with third parties as is necessary to complete your purchase transaction. We do not store your payment card information. We only store a reference to your payment card, and use such a reference to process transactions for the additional Services you purchase. Although we are not responsible for the safety and security of your Billing Information that is shared with third parties such as credit card processing companies, we use reasonable efforts to deal only with third parties we believe to be reputable and reasonably secure and disclose only such Billing Information as we believe reasonably necessary to complete the billing process.

With Whom We Share Collected Information


We DO NOT and WILL NOT rent, sell or share, directly or indirectly, your Private Content with other organizations for other reasons than those indicated.

There may be circumstances where the use or disclosure of Collected Information may be justified or permitted, or where we may be obligated to disclose information without consent. In these circumstances, we will attempt to contact you, if permitted by law, via the e-mail address you provided during registration, before the use or disclosure of Collected Information.

Such circumstances may include:

  • If required to comply with a subpoena, warrant or order made by a body with jurisdiction to compel the production of information, or to comply with the rules or court relating to the production of records.
  • To a person who needs the information because of an emergency that threatens the life, health, or security of an identifiable person or group.

Public content is available to all users. Public content means that anyone, including off platform users, may access, index and use the content.

Information Collected by Third Parties


The control is yours

Hibe provides you with the ability to control how you share your information. We advise that you undertake the necessary precautions when you provide online information to other users.

On Hibe, you connect and share with others based on Hibe’s Contextual Privacy approach. In this approach, you create an audience representing the boundary of your interactions with others, you select content to be shared within this audience, and you select people that will be allowed to access, contribute and interact with the shared content within such an environment.

Content you contribute within a public context is referred to as your Public Content. Content you contribute within a private context is referred to as your Private Content.

We cannot control how others may share the information you disclose or share, and we assume no responsibility in that regard. You are solely responsible for any abusive, undesired or illegal use that might occur with respect to the disclosed or shared information.

We integrate video features that connect to sites. When using such features, some limited and required Collected Information may be transmitted. Please note that transmitted information becomes subject to the YouTube agreement and privacy policy.

Control Over Your Information


Information that you provide

To use Hibe, you must provide a valid email address and a password to create a new account. If you do not want to share this information with us, you will not be able to use Hibe.

You may at any time view, update, correct and delete any information that you provide using the various functions of the Hibe Platform.

We recommend that you learn how to use Hibe to gain a greater understanding of how you share and control your information.

Deletion

Deleted information is removed completely from the platform unless we believe it is necessary to investigate, prevent, or take action regarding suspected illegal activities or fraud, situations involving the physical safety of any person, violations of the Terms, or as otherwise required by applicable law.

At any time, you can close your account. By doing so, we will delete all of the information that you provided during the course of your registration with Hibe.

How users may request deletion of their personal data or account:

Canada: If you are a resident of Canada and wish to request the deletion of your data, please contact us using the information provided below.

United States of America: If you are a resident of the USA, you may exercise your rights regarding data deletion as outlined in applicable privacy laws. Please get in touch with us using the information provided below.

European Union: If you are a resident of the EU, you have the right to request the deletion of your data under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). To make such a request, please get in touch with us using the information provided below.

We will send you a confirmation link to complete the deletion process.

Please note, however, that any Public content that has been downloaded by a third party will not be deleted because we have no control over the devices used by third parties.

All deleted information may remain up to thirty-one (31) days in our backup data.

Security


Hibe employs physical, administrative and technical safeguards to help protect the confidentiality and integrity of Collected Information and to reduce the risk of loss, misuse, unauthorized access, disclosure or modification of Collected Information.

Hibe uses encryption technologies to protect your information transmitted electronically via the Internet. However, we assume no liability for the loss of any information that you transmit to us via the Internet.

How You Can Protect Your Information and Content


To protect your privacy and security, we undertake reasonable security measures to verify your identity before granting you access to your account. YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR MAINTAINING THE SECRECY OF YOUR AUTHENTICATION CREDENTIALS AT ALL TIMES.

We DO NOT and WILL NOT rent, sell or share, directly or indirectly, your Private Content with third parties.

Location


By using our Services, you agree that your information may be transferred and stored in the Cloud.

If any part of the Hibe Platform links you to other sites, these sites do not operate under this Privacy Policy. We recommend you examine the privacy statements posted on those other websites to understand their procedures for collecting, using, and disclosing personal information.

Revision and Update of the Privacy Policy


This Privacy Policy may be revised periodically and this will be reflected by a "last modified" date below. You will be notified of each major revision through your registration email address. Privacy Policy changes will apply to the information collected from the date we post the revised Privacy Policy on the Hibe Platform, as well as to existing information held by us.

If we decide to change this Policy in a material way, we will obtain the necessary consent required under applicable privacy laws if we seek to collect, use or disclose Personal Information for purposes other than those to which consent has been obtained, unless otherwise required or permitted by law. If any proposed change is unacceptable to you, you may close your account as provided in the Terms of Service and delete your information.
